Medical Imaging (General Radiology)

This type of examination allows medical professionals to study bones, organs or other tissues using x-rays. The x-ray tube emits rays invisible to the naked eye that go through the skin to produce an image. In other words, a photo is taken of the inside of your body.

How to make or cancel an appointment

To make (or cancel) an appointment for an ultrasound: please call 418 684-5333, ext. 11920, from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.  Note: Walk-in service is not available at the moment. Thank you for your understanding.

When in the examination room, a medical imaging technologist will ask you to place yourself in a specific position, depending on the area to be examined. After you are in the right position, it will be important not to move while images are taken to make sure that they are as clear as possible. Depending on the X-rays required, one or more images may be taken. You may be asked to take deep breaths, exhale or stop breathing for a few seconds. X-rays are non-invasive and pain-free.

Special Considerations

If you are pregnant or think that you might be, please tell the medical imaging technologist.
