Palliative Care at Jeffery Hale

At Jeffery Hale, we are devoted to providing comfort and care to adults who are in the final stages of a terminal illness.  We also have a Family Living Unit so that loved ones can stay close by at all times.

Our Palliative Care beds are available to adults 18 years of age and older from the Greater Quebec City area who are in the final stages of a terminal illness. For more information, you can consult our Palliative Care and End-of-life Program. (In French only)

Our team providing Palliative Care is made up of the following professionals:

  • Doctors
  • Nurses
  • Nursing Assistants
  • Nutritionist
  • Occupational Therapist
  • Personal Care Attendant
  • Pharmacist
  • Physiotherapist
  • Social Workers
  • Spiritual Care Worker

Referrals

Clients must be referred to Palliative Care by a health professional, such as a doctor or social worker. 

Capacity

We have ten beds reserved for Palliative Care.  The Family Living Unit can accommodate two people. 

Cost

You must have a valid Québec health insurance card.  Fees for private and semi-private rooms in a hospital are based on Québec's Hospital Insurance Act.  For more details visit Services Québec website.

Hours of Operation

Care is provided 24 hours a day, seven days a week to those in Palliative Care at Jeffery Hale. 

Location

Jeffery Hale's Palliative Care beds are located in our Community Geriatrics Unit, which is located on the 3rd floor of the main building at 1250, chemin Sainte-Foy. 

The Family Living Unit is on the 2nd floor.
